1 John 1: 2

17 December, 2020

For it was life which appeared before us: we saw it, we are eyewitnesses of it, and are now writing to you about it. It was the very life of all ages, the life that has always existed with the Father, which actually became visible in person to us mortal men. 1 John 1:2

Almighty Father, we behold your most beloved Son, Jesus Christ, your word, who existed with you, before creation and the beginning of time, and the mysteries of your plans of redemption for ignominious mankind seem more incomprehensible than our feeble minds can fathom. The life, the word, was manifested, the eternal life, which was with you, Father, made manifest to us.

You separated from your word, which you sent into the world, and your anointed one, clothed with the flesh of mortal creation dwelt amongst us, in the person of our savior and messiah, Jesus Christ. Jesus came with the immense mission of saving mankind from enslavement and delivering man for the restoration of your glory by destroying sin, death and the stranglehold of evil.

Man saw and can testify to the astounding power of our mighty God through the ministry of Jesus. The miracles and healings he performed, the new covenant and new commission he entrusted us with, his death and resurrection and ascension into heaven, were all witnessed by his disciples and recorded in the gospel of truth.

When we look at our imperfect and crude selves and understand the magnitude of your benevolence for us, we are deeply humbled and resolve to make ourselves worthy of redemption obtained for us, by reconciling ourselves with you God, which is possible only by reconciling with one another and perfecting our faith to deem ourselves worthy to stand before you when our time comes. In Jesus and through Jesus we hope to regain your favor. Amen
