2 Peter 3: 9

23 July, 2022

It is not that the Lord is slow in fulfilling his promise, as some suppose, but that he is very patient with you, because it is not his will for any to be lost, but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Almighty Father, we offer you great thankfulness, for you have been unfathomably merciful towards us, poor sinners, who come before you in all humility and sincerity, invoking with all our hearts, that as you have given us your living promise, of salvation to all believers, help us to increase our belief by faith, trust and hope in your Word.

We thank you that through our faith, we can receive a clearer vision of the depth of your promise of eternity. For you have promised that at last the greatest day of all will arrive, when we, through the same patience you have shown us will, with perseverance, conquer the whole world, so that salvation can be attained by all people, to the glory of your Name, as Father of all nations.

Strengthen us in every way, especially when we are in need and distress. Heal, restore and deliver the sick and those who are tempted. May they wait in expectation for fulfillment of the promise, and may they be succoured and sustained. May your Name, Lord God, be honored among us. May your Kingdom come and be established in the Name of Jesus the Lord. Amen
