2 Peter 3:9

8 March, 2023

It is not that the Lord is slow in fulfilling his promise, as some suppose, but that he is very patient with you, because it is not his will for any to be lost, but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Dear Father in heaven, we thank you with all our hearts that you have given us your living promise. We thank you that time and time again, our faith can receive a clearer vision through this promise. God of Heaven and Earth, Father of glory, forgive us our sins and trespasses as we lift our hands to you in all humbleness and adoration. May your Name be honoured from generation to generation for you are worthy of all praise.

Lord, your love is so perfect and unconditional, that it is distributed exactly, freely and without discrimination, to all your subjects, elevating us, through Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross, to sonship and thus to citizens of the Heavenly Kingdom. Your desire to save all souls through repentance and through abiding in your covenant of love, shows us your faithfulness and righteousness, dear Father. Your Mercy absolves and exonerates all our offences, if we live in accordance with your Holy Will.

You have promised that at last the greatest day of all will come, when your Holy Gospel will encompass all peoples of the world, bringing salvation to every soul, to the glory of your name, as Father throughout all nations. Strengthen us in every way, especially when we are in need and distress. Strengthen the sick and those who are tempted. May they wait in expectation for fulfillment of the promise, and may they see help come. May your Name, Lord God, be honored among us, as we seek to walk on the path leading us to you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
