For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7
Lord God, Almighty Father, Whose Sovereign Power governs over all dominions of the universe, and Who is Lord of creation and Author of our lives, we sing your praises and sincerely offer our thanks to you who guides and sustains us with unconditional love. Lord, all courage and power, with which we are fortified to face the challenges of life, emanate through your Holy Spirit.
Lord, you have taught us, through our Lord Jesus’ life and his sacrificial death, living in humble service, and dying for the saving of our souls by destroying sin and death, that we should carry our crosses courageously and in all humility. We are exhorted to defend our faith and the gospel even at the cost of our lives, for the gain of eternal salvation should so temper our minds and hearts, that it becomes our main goal and path of life.
Help us Lord, to fight for the truth, with fierce determination, seeking you in all things, attempting to accomplish our mission for the glorification of your Holy Name. As Christians, may we always look towards assisting our fellowmen with love and Christian ardor, living in Christ, for he died for us and now we no longer live, for ourselves, but in him, as he in us. Walking in faith, in trust of you upholding us in righteous ways, we walk victoriously in Jesus’ Name.
