TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
15 NOVEMBER, 2025
Luke 18:1-8
Jesus told his disciples a parable
about the necessity for them to pray always, without becoming weary.
He said, “There was a judge in a certain town
who neither feared God nor respected any human being.
And a widow in that town used to come to him and say,
‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’
For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought,
‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being,
because this widow keeps bothering me
I shall deliver a just decision for her
lest she finally come and strike me.’”
The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says.
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones
who call out to him day and night?
Will he be slow to answer them?
I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily.
But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!
REFLECTION
In this parable of the persistent widow, Jesus teaches the importance of perseverance in prayer. The widow’s unrelenting plea before the unjust judge reveals the power of faith that refuses to give up. If even an unjust man can be moved by persistence, how much more will a loving and righteous God respond to His children who call upon Him day and night. Prayer is not about wearing God down but about strengthening our trust in His timing and will. True faith holds on, even when answers seem delayed, knowing that God is just and attentive to every cry.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. Help me to persist in faith, to seek You continually, and to trust in Your perfect timing. When discouragement sets in and hope seems distant, renew my strength and deepen my faith. Let my heart remain steadfast in prayer, confident that You are working for my good and Your glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
