Colossians 1: 3-5

15 August, 2020

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people – the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. Colossians 1:3–5

Our Father in Heaven, Living and Everlasting Majesty, Creator and Preserver of all life, First Person of the Triune Godhead, keeper of Promises, we bow before you in humble praise. Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ redeemed the whole of mankind in your gaze that we may walk worthy of you, Lord, by upholding your Covenant, being fruitful in works of goodness and charity and increasingly growing in the wisdom and knowledge of our God. We offer you our oblation of thanksgiving and commitment to our mission of evangelization of your gospel. We are all called to be saints, empowered by your grace to sufficiency, filled by the flame of faith and virtue by the working of your indwelling Holy Spirit, displaying patience, forgiveness and fellowship in our communion with all, in the hope of our resurrection for all eternity. Fill us with the spirit of love, tolerance and commitment to perfecting ourselves to your glorious image, while waiting in joyful trepidation for the day of our deliverance, when your almighty hand will be victorious and terminate all evil manifestations existing among us. In the Precious Name of Jesus we pray. Amen
