Isaiah 40:29

29 May, 2021

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. – Isaiah 40:29

Merciful Father, Giver of Life, Giver of Salvation, you are the only true giver, when we are in need. Your Mighty Benevolence is infinite. All good things come from you, Father, in large measure, and you give of yourself, for all is in you and all is yours. We have nothing, for all that we possess emanates from you, even our intellect and we can make no boast of anything that is ours.

You are ever mindful of the state of our human imperfections, for you know our infidelities and the fickleness of our nature, which is easily inclined and lured to worldly things. Steeped in wicked ways, we were slaves to sin, until your merciful plan of salvation was begun and Jesus, your beloved Son, redeemed us from the pits of damnation. Lord, our feeble hearted beings you upheld and without ever abandoning us, you saved and succoured our faint  hearts, holding us, in our weakness, with your strength.

Lord, as our finite selves approach your infinite love, you pour out your blessings upon the weak, who seek you as their only means of surviving, taking refuge in you, and drawing from your strength which is in no way diminished, for you are the source that replenishes our soul. Your strength is such, that even the weakest of your creatures can easily be strengthened to bear their burdens, and to vanquish their oppressors. We beseech your mercy and beneficence, as children to their Father, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
