Isaiah 49: 3-4

4 January, 2021

He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.” But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing at all. Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand, and my reward is with my God.” Isaiah 49:3–4

O God of our ancestors, Master and Father of us all and of the generations to follow, you are an Everlasting God, omnipotent, and omniscient. You dispense your grace freely, on the just and the righteous and prosper all who with staunch faith prevail amidst storms in their lives and continue to glorify you, trusting your love and mercy.

Your people, the spiritually elect, in the salvation of whom Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for your holy name to be exalted, are recipients of your free grace for ever, as long as they live in Christ and Christ in them, walking the ways directed by your Spirit dwelling in them.

We are assured of the good news of our heavenly inheritance as citizens and children of God. Our labors are not in vain as long as our cause is rightful and we work and live in accordance with your holy will. Assist us in living our lives in imitation of our great representative, the Lord of our salvation. We pray and make our supplications in the one true name by which you hear and answer our prayers, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
