Isaiah 49: 6

5 October, 2020

He says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” Isaiah 49:6

God our Father, the Preserver and Protector of the whole of creation, your love is sublime and unconditional. It envelops believers, your chosen ones, as well as unbelievers who, being in darkness, upon beholding the Light of your Splendor, walk in that light and are redeemed.

We, your appointed people, walk in the Holy Spirit, our sins washed away by the Blood of the Risen Lord. We are preserved in Christ, redeemed and rescued from the damning power of sin, into being in your favor, in the covenant of grace.

Our first parents had fallen from a state of honour and communion with you, from righteousness and holiness, into sin, misery and banishment from your sight. Being feeble, we had gone astray like lost sheep, but Jesus, our Good Shepherd, raised us to a state of justification, acceptance with you God, and a better righteousness than we had fallen from.

Just as Christ enlightened us, he has left the evangelical ministration of the Gospel, the truths, doctrines, and ordinances preached by him, the author of our salvation, to us, as your appointed people. We hope to accomplish this ministry as witnesses of the truth before all, reaching out to all of God’s created race, to the very ends of the earth, in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen
