Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand. – Joel 2:1
Abba Father, we reverence your Power, Might and Glory and have a holy fear of your wrath, for you are Faithful and Righteous and you desire your creation to attain the holiness and perfection for which you created us. Lord, despite warnings and prophecies, we continue to be wily, wicked, selfish and sinful, falling into temptation repeatedly. We implore you to be Merciful and to help us out of our mortal sinfulness which will result in greater and more severe punishment, through drought, other natural and inexplicable calamities, destroying the peace of the earth with war and revenge.
Lord, teach us to repent and prepare for the day of your coming, the time of which is known only to you, but a day when your judgment will decide our fate. Help us to rid ourselves of iniquity, which can cause destruction that cannot be remedied. May we be saved from incurring your displeasure, which will bring heaps of trouble among us, and which will escalate beyond all proportions, resulting in being consumed by the fire of your Justice, which cannot be escaped and which none can resist.
Almighty Father, we invoke your mighty assistance in recognising the fast approaching danger that will assail the inhabitants of your world, before the day of judgment. May we, by prayer, repentance and amendment of our ways, in humility and devotion, be awarded your mercy, as you have promised, Lord, and may the blessings of the Holy Spirit prevail over us and effuse our beings. May we stand in obedience and awe before you, justified in your Presence, in Jesus’ Name, through which all things are obtained, by your Holy Promise. Amen
