Matthew 28: 6

4 April, 2021

He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. – Matthew 28:6

Our most glorious Creator, as we greet the signs in nature around us, of Spring once again regaling us in bloom, in the chirpy songs of birds and survey the fields soon to be planted, all signs of ongoing life around us, we give you praise for an even greater sign of new life. The resurrection of your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, that we especially celebrate today, this Easter Sunday.

The sadness and despair of Jesus’ death has given way to the bright promise of immortality. For the Resurrection is our guarantee that justice will triumph over treason and treachery, light will overcome darkness and despair, and love will conquer death. We ask for your grace that we may live the promise given to us, by imitating the life of Jesus in reaching out to the poor, the marginalized, the least among us.

As we strive to follow your Covenant of loving our neighbor and helping all those we meet, we offer our devoted acclaim and praise you this Easter season. Change our lives, our hearts to be messengers of Easter love, joy and hope. Help us proclaim the good news of your Kingdom, the truth of your gospel, as evangelists. May we walk in your way, abiding in Christ and may your Holy Spirit enlighten our minds and hearts to believe your incredible love, touching others too, with the same love. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ, our Risen Lord forever. Amen
