Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance – Matthew 3:8

Holy God, our Creator and Redeemer, from dust you created us, manifest in flesh and blood, and with your breath you filled our beings with life. You gave us all things to make us sufficient to ourselves and commanded us to be rich and perfect in holiness, according to your image, in which we were created. But our fickleness made us arrogant and impenitent and your wrath was stirred against us, causing you to depart from us, and turn your countenance away.

Lord, we proved ourselves unworthy of your merit, yet, you did not abandon your rebellious creation, but sent us your beloved Son, as a Savior and Messiah. He came to rescue us, renew us, justify us and save us with the gift of eternal salvation by dying for the atonement of our sins. Lord, we implore your mercy and forgiveness, putting on the garment of purification by turning away from sin and shame and making reparation for our detestable offences. We strive to live in Christ, dying to our former selves and professing and proclaiming our faith in our resurrected Lord and our Living God.

Father, we strive to live in the Spirit of truth and righteousness, following your Holy Word with total submission and obedience. We are truly repentant, Lord, and walk in the light of your grace, cultivating the fruits of holiness and humility and treading in the steps of our Lord, by the Power of your Holy Spirit, leading and guiding us to you. By fulfilling your plan for us to be missionaries of the truth, help us by our works to obtain your just pardon for our sins by the fruit of our righteousness, for your greater glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
