THE 1st OF SEPTEMBER
THROUGH JESUS, WE HAVE RECEIVED EVERY BLESSING
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, ‘This was He of whom I said, He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:14-17
Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, the Son of God, is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the source of eternal life, love, joy, and everything pure, beautiful, holy, and full of grace. Jesus embodies the Truth, and because He is the Word, the Bible is also Truth. As we deepen our understanding of Scripture, we gain a clearer understanding of who God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit truly are.
To fully experience the blessings Jesus secured for us on the cross, we must desire to know who Jesus is, understand our identity in Him, and recognize the blessings that are ours because of Him. The Holy Spirit, sent to be our Helper, reveals the truth of God’s Word to us. By seeking the Lord’s help, we can better comprehend and receive the fullness of God’s grace.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Praise and glory to Your Holy Name, dear Jesus, for the grace You have made available to me, not only in this life but for all eternity! I can never thank You enough for paying for my sins and restoring my union with Father God! Help me to always remember that I am blessed beyond my understanding. Please guide me to live in a way that pleases You and You alone. Only through Your grace, dear Lord, could I become Your child and enjoy the abundant life You came to offer. In gratitude, I bow before You, my faithful Savior. Amen
