THE 13th OF OCTOBER
SALVATION IS POSSIBLE ONLY BY GOD’S GRACE, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. -Romans 3:23-24
Every single human being has sinned and is continually deficient of God’s glory. Before Christ, under Mosaic Law people were totally dependent on the sacrificial system to be right with God because no one could keep the whole law or was justified in their own strength and works. If we could save ourselves, Jesus would not have had to die in our place, paying for our sins.
Since Jesus Christ died in our place, we are no more under the Law, but under grace. That does not mean that we can live as we please, because God is good and saves us anyway. It means that Jesus’ sacrifice is enough for us to be forgiven, and there is nothing we can add to what He already did to redeem us. But only if we receive Jesus as Lord and follow Him wholeheartedly, can we be declared free of the guilt of sin, become acceptable to God, and make it to heaven.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You Lord Jesus for redeeming me, by paying for my sins with Your life. Thank You that I am not under the Law and that I live in Your grace. I am so blessed to be Your child! Please help me live right for You, to pursue righteousness and holiness and obey Your will. Please strengthen me daily through Your Holy Spirit, to be able to live to please and glorify You. In the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
