THE 15th OF OCTOBER
THE PROMISE OF SALVATION IS FOR ALL—JEWS AND GENTILES ALIKE
“Therefore, it is by faith so that it may be by grace, to guarantee the promise to all Abraham’s descendants—not only to those under the Law, but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.” —Romans 4:16
The Old Testament serves as a “type and shadow” of what is revealed in the New Testament. From the very beginning, God has carefully unfolded His perfect plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, and we see glimpses of this in prophecies throughout the Old Covenant. Both Jews and Gentiles can inherit God’s promises through faith—a confident trust in the unseen God. Salvation is offered by God’s grace and mercy, not because of human effort.
God’s promise of salvation, given to Abraham’s descendants, is rooted in grace. It’s not just for Jewish believers who observe the Law, but also for Gentiles who share the faith of Abraham, the spiritual father of us all. As early as Genesis 12:3, long before the Mosaic Law was established, God promised Abraham that all nations of the earth would be blessed through him—a prophecy pointing to Jesus Christ. God honors faith, and great faith honors God. His decision is that salvation comes only through faith, by His grace.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You, Father, for the gift of salvation, which I receive through faith. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for convicting me of sin and showing me my need for salvation. Thank You, Lord, for adopting me into Your family and making me Your child. Help me grow in faith so I may bring honor and glory to You through my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
