THE 15th OF OCTOBER
THE PROMISE OF SALVATION IS FOR US ALL, JEWS AND GENTILES
Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all Romans 4:16
The Old Testament is the “type and shadow” of the New Testament. From the beginning, the Lord has laid out the perfect salvation plan through Jesus and we find prophecies about Jesus in every book of the Old Covenant. We can all inherit God’s promises by faith, which is a confident trust in the unseen God; Jews and Gentiles can receive salvation by God’s unmerited favor and mercy.
Salvation’s promise is guaranteed to all Abraham’s descendants, as an act of grace, not only to the Jewish believers who keep the Law, but also to Gentile believers, who share Abraham’s faith, as he is the spiritual father of all of us. Since Genesis 12:3, long before the Mosaic Law, we read that God promised Abraham that all the families of the earth were to be blessed in him and this promise was pointing at Jesus Christ. The Lord honors faith and big faith honors the Lord. God decided that only by faith can we receive His grace to be saved.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You Father for the gift of salvation, that I receive by faith. Thank You Holy Spirit for convincing me of sin and the need to be saved. Thank You Lord for adopting me into Your family, and for making me Your child. Please help me grow in faith so that I may honor and glorify You through my life. In the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
