GOD’S GRACE IS GIVEN TO THE HUMBLE

Do you think the Scripture speaks in vain when it says, “The Spirit who lives in us longs jealously”? But He gives even more grace. That is why it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” – James 4:5-6

When we grasp the nature of the grace we’ve received through Jesus, it’s crucial to stand firm and remind ourselves of the blessings that come with it, including the gift of eternal life. Our faith should be grounded in the truth that we are saved by God’s grace through Christ, not by our own efforts. We must reject any teachings or traditions that suggest we can earn God’s love by following certain rules.

Jesus’ sacrifice is perfect, and nothing we do can add to it. We don’t live righteously to earn God’s love; rather, because our hearts have been transformed by Jesus, we no longer take pleasure in sin. True salvation is marked by an inner transformation that changes our hearts and leads to good works and righteous choices.

Jesus fully paid for the gift of our salvation, but to hold onto it, we must genuinely repent, crucify our flesh daily along with its desires, and live in obedience to the Lord. Living in this way, with a heart full of love for Jesus, we won’t lack any good thing. We will experience God’s blessings, peace, joy, and all His best as part of our everyday lives. Even in difficult times, we can take comfort in knowing that our heavenly Father will work everything out for our good (Romans 8:28). God is worthy of our love, respect, honor, and faithfulness because of who He is and what He has already accomplished for us through Jesus Christ.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of Your grace! My debt of sin is paid, and I can enjoy eternal life in Your presence because You died in my place. Help me fully embrace Your grace by renewing my mind and heart through Your Word so that I may live according to Your will. I am incredibly blessed to be Your child. Thank You for choosing me to be Yours, and please continue to help me remain faithful to You. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
