THE 27th OF OCTOBER
CHRIST SETS US FREE FROM THE POWER OF SIN
“We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.” – Romans 6:6-7
When we are born again in the spirit, our spirit is renewed by the Holy Spirit through the seed of God’s Word, while our body and soul remain the same. It’s up to us to be transformed by renewing our mind, changing our thought patterns. We need to replace our old, worldly mindset with a godly one.
At the beginning of our walk with God, resisting sin can feel challenging because we still hold onto old ways of thinking and acting. But God, in His grace, sent the Holy Spirit to help us, knowing that we cannot transform ourselves by our own strength. The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Guide, and Teacher, leading us into all truth and empowering us to live victoriously.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for freeing me from the power of sin and making me righteous. Thank You for Your Word, which renews my mind and reveals the truth. Help me to continually let go of worldly thinking and embrace Your truth and principles. Please guide me through the Holy Spirit into all truth and help me walk on the narrow path that leads to heaven. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen
