THE 30th OF APRIL
BY FAITH WE ARE CONSIDERED RIGHTEOUS
Now not for his sake alone was it written that it was credited to him, but for our sake also–to whom righteousness will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead— who was betrayed and crucified because of our sins, and was raised [from the dead] for our justification [our acquittal—absolving us of all sin before God]. – Romans 4:23-25
Abraham’s faith was counted as righteousness, and this is true for us as well; if Jesus is our Lord and we have faith in God the Father, who has raised Jesus from the dead after He had paid for our sins, dying in our place. The wages of sin is death. Jesus died and rose from the dead, that we might be considered sinless and be justified. We cannot ever be righteous enough through our own good works. If that were possible, Jesus would not have had to die. But Father God gave His Son so we might be saved and be with our Lord forever in heaven.
We can be righteous, pure and sinless, only by firm faith in Jesus Christ and by what He has done for us. We cannot believe in Jesus without believing in God the Father and the Holy Spirit, because all three are one!
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for having died in my place and I can have Your righteousness if I trust in You! I thank You for the indescribable joy I have every time the presence of the Holy Spirit floods me! You keep Your promises and I can trust in what is written in Your Word. Because You have risen, I also have life and forgiveness of sins through You! I thank You and glorify You with all my heart. Amen
