THE 31st OF AUGUST
THE LORD STRENGTHENS AND PROTECTS US FROM THE EVIL ONE
“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:3
God is unwavering in His faithfulness and fulfills all that He promises in His Word. From the very beginning, in Genesis 3:15, He foretold the coming of Jesus, who would be born of a woman and crush the head of the devil. Even knowing the immense suffering Jesus would endure, God remained true to His promise. Jesus came in human form, born of a woman, and although the devil struck His heel, believing he had defeated Him through death, Jesus ultimately triumphed. He conquered Satan, crushed his head, rose from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, with us seated in Him.
After His resurrection, Jesus was given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). As long as we remain in Him and He in us, we too have authority in His name to resist the devil. Our Lord strengthens and guards us from the evil one, ensuring our safety in Him. We know that the enemy can do nothing against us without God’s permission. God’s love for us is so great that He only allows hardships that will ultimately work for our benefit.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Glory and honor to Your holy name, dear Lord! I trust in You regardless of my circumstances because You are faithful and always fulfill Your promises. Thank You, Lord, for giving me strength when I am weak and for protecting me from the evil one. Whenever I ask, You grant me the strength to overcome all his attacks and temptations. Lord, please help me always remember that I have authority over the enemy in the Name of Jesus and that I can resist him whenever he comes against me. Thank You so much, my Lord, for the victory I have in You. In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
