THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS, WE CAN CHOOSE COURAGE OVER FEAR
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” — John 14:21
These words were spoken by Jesus on the night before His arrest and crucifixion, as He prepared His disciples for the trials ahead. If they had fully understood His message, they might have spared themselves much fear, sorrow, and despair. Jesus never asks of us something beyond our ability. When He encourages us not to let our hearts be troubled, it means we have the power to choose peace over fear. He even tells us how: by placing our faith and trust in God, knowing that He is with us in every circumstance.
Consider the times when, in the midst of anger, someone we respected arrived, and we quickly found the strength to calm down and act with kindness. This illustrates that with faith and a willingness to grow, we can learn to respond with peace rather than strife. Some may find this easier than others, but with God’s help, it is achievable. A life free from conflict is not only more fulfilling but also honors God.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me to calm down in all situations and fill my heart with Your perfect peace. Grant me the courage and strength to face life’s challenges with wisdom and grace. Remind me that through the Holy Spirit, I have the ability to maintain peace and a pure heart. Thank You, Lord, for equipping me with the tools I need to fight the good fight of faith and overcome every battle in Your Name. Amen
