Prayers and Petitions

Philippians 1: 9-11

27 January, 2021

My prayer for you is that you may have still more love – a love that is full of knowledge and wise insight. I want you to be able always to recognize the highest and the best, and to live sincere and blameless lives until the day of Christ. I want to see your lives full of true goodness, produced by the power that Jesus Christ gives you to the praise and glory of God. Philippians 1:9–11

Eternal Father, ever-living God, you love us with a perfect, sublime, unconditional love and your covenanted relationship with your people demands that we display the utmost love for our God and effuse our brethren with as great and profound a love as you have for us. Not shallow, selfish love but an undemanding, understanding and sacrificial love where we give without expectation of return.

Unless we recognize and abound in the love of God and the fulfilling of his Will and Word, oblivious of our needs, we cannot claim to discern the truth and wisdom of love as God wills it. Love is experiential, it is the filling of the heart with the virtues and gifts of the Holy Spirit and the truth of the indoctrinated Word of God, and emptying the same trilling, trembling, pure love to God and upon the universe without discrimination.

Living Christlike lives embodies living true, regenerated lives with the passion, the fire and the pure, exhilarating, unfettered, devotional love, of the Spirit, reaching its pinnacle in the adoration and veneration of our divine, beatific, supreme God. Also, giving of ourselves in absolute selflessness to our fellow human beings, unbound by petty emotions but rich in spirit and enduring in the fullness of divinity for our God, spreading the powerful message of the elixir of an eternal life with our Father God, and proclaiming his praises, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
