Proverbs 3: 11-12

20 February, 2021

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. Proverbs 3:11-12

Lord God, Heavenly Father, as the elect, your chosen people, your children, we take delight in rendering ecstatic praise and glory to our Father, and live in the fear of the Lord our God, knowing that your love for us is so great that you want to see your perfection reflected in us. We accept your gentle rebukes when we act against your holy will, as chastisement that a father would show to his errant children, because of your infinite love.

We have been adopted to sonship and co-heirs in your heavenly kingdom, O Lord, and we have been entrusted with the ministry that your beloved Son, Jesus Christ started, when he was made incarnate, that of revealing the truth of our everliving God, and to spread the good news of your Kingdom till it reaches the ends of the earth. Father, we humbly and joyfully accept the crosses you want us to carry, for Jesus willingly carried his cross for the greater glory of your name, thus securing the safety and redemption of your people.

As disciples and followers of Christ, we live in him and he in us, through our reconciliation with you, Father, and we suffer for the purification and sanctification of our souls, so that when we reach our heavenly destination, we will be worthy to stand in your presence, to gaze on your beatific countenance, and to dwell in eternal communion with you, through Jesus, our Lord. Amen
