Psalm 145: 3-5

20 September, 2020

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty – and I will meditate on your wonderful works. Psalm 145:3–5

O Glorious God of creation, your infinite and eternal character of love, mercy, justice and peace are truly unfathomable and without end. How lofty is the splendor of your magnificent heavenly domains and realms, how exquisite the colors, shapes, sizes of each animate and inanimate of your perfected works, how exalted beyond measure or dimension the universe and its designated movement generation upon generation without pause or interval, performing with infallible perfection under your surveillance.

You have made us inhabitants of your earth of incredible beauty, staggering magnitude, astonishing abundance and diversity of every object of nature, the marvelous beauty of which is visualized as far as sight can stretch.

We marvel at and celebrate the never-ending might, majesty, dominion and power that you command Lord, from every magnificent and intricate living cell, the complexity and the amazing diversity of life on earth, and the precision of the laws of the rotations and revolutions, the tides and seasons, birth and death. All these are indicative of the incomprehensible creativity, intelligence, and power of our Creator God.

But above all, is the amazing mystery of life eternal. The greatest marvel of all is your gift of eternal salvation to mankind and your divine plan of redemption, carried out by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has saved us from the clutches of evil and entitled us to citizenship and heritage in your Heavenly Kingdom.

Lord Almighty, we join the entire creation in exalting your Holy Name. We attain to magnify the Name of our Mighty, Immortal Maker to the ends of the earth, as our voices rise in joyous acclaim, intoning the Name of Jesus to intercede for us. Amen
