Psalm 89: 15-16

29 October, 2020

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness. Psalm 89:15–16

Father God, Creator of the Universe, how can we not elevate your Mighty Name on high, when you bless us with the profuse gift of a new day, where time is of the essence? A fresh opportunity to glorify you in praise, to refresh and replenish our souls with your grace by deepening in faith, by making reparation for our grievances towards you and amends for our grudges towards our fellowmen, by reviewing our life and getting rid of all falsehood to merit our salvation, by using wisely the talents you have blessed us with and discerning the true purpose of our existence on earth.

Your faithfulness dear God, and the splendor of your effulgent Being is invigorating and awe-inspiring. We revel in our God of goodness, kindness and righteousness, which compels us to seek a closer communion with you and augments our connection to you. We lift our hands, palms raised outward in reverential worship of a Living God, who reciprocates our love in ways we are undeserving of.

We take delight in the scripture you have handed to us through your prophets and Apostles. Your New Covenant with us and all the Promises thereof, are contained in your Word, Lord, which makes us meritorious of the rewards if we practice it with chaste intent and attain what it promises.

Your Holy Word is a source of strength, support and solace to us, at such times when darkness surrounds us and attempts to mitigate our faith and beliefs. It is then that the force of your love rescues us and we behold the Light of your Countenance and walk in the joy of the Lord, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, through our Savior Jesus, with him and in him. Amen
