Psalm 98:1-3

17 February, 2021

Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Psalm 98:1-3

Heavenly God, we join all the choruses of angels and with the choirs of saints and martyrs of the past, raise our voices in songs of worship and exaltation, for our Almighty Creator and Author of Salvation, whose awesome works and wonders are so magnificent and majestic that they stir the whole of creation to render thanks and praise.

Lord, we are immensely blessed that we have a God who is benevolent, gracious, infallible in granting justice, generous and merciful with his graces and favor, which cover us like a safe shelter. You have upheld us with your strong right arm, preserving us in our weakness, lifting us when we stumble, rebuking us in our stubbornness, enlightening us in our ignorance, saving us from our sinfulness, looking past our unrighteousness to see only the pure, redeeming righteousness of Jesus in us.

Father, you have created us for a purpose and though we rebelled and fell away from you into darkness and degradation, you intended that your purpose be fulfilled. Nothing that comes from you goes void and your arm of holiness, put forth in a righteous cause, has vindicated and brought to victory that which is right, for your glory and your honor to remain, so that salvation for humanity may uphold your cause. Your faithful elect you justly reward, and we walk in faith, as children of God, partaking eternally of a rich heritage in your Kingdom, through Jesus, our Lord. Amen
