For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope. – Romans 15:4
Eternal Father, Glorious, Immortal, Holy, Omnipotent God, you are good and great, kind and merciful, in looking upon your fallen creation with leniency and clemency, not forgetting your plans to prosper us. In spite of our betrayal and iniquities, you have given us a manifestation of your infinite mercy and benevolence, by taking it upon yourself to become the means and purpose of our deliverance and eternal salvation.
Your promises Lord, are unshakable and you have fulfilled your plan of redeeming us by the shedding of the Blood of your own beloved Son, Jesus, Whom you sent incarnate in Being to grant us eternal forgiveness of all our trespasses by the ransom of his Blood for us. He thus claimed us from the clutches of slavery and darkness, cleansed us pure and sanctified, before you, in the splendor of your Light, your Goodness and Grace.
Through your Holy Word and promises of your covenant, the ultimate plans and wonderful purposes for the redemption of mankind have been revealed, that we might have an assured and a glorious hope, in Christ Jesus. Your Word, Lord, which was written for our learning and spiritual and scriptural assistance, points the way to salvation. It is a step by step guide, explaining your redemptive purpose for humanity, and fostering within us hope and patience, comfort and consolation to walk in your steps, selflessly guiding our weaker and infirm brethren, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
