TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
4 DECEMBER, 2025
Matthew 7:21, 24-27
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’
will enter the Kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.
And everyone who listens to these words of mine
but does not act on them
will be like a fool who built his house on sand.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION
Not everyone who calls upon the Lord truly belongs to Him, for Jesus looks beyond our words and sees the substance of our obedience. He invites us away from empty declarations and into a life shaped by His will. Like a wise builder, the one who listens to His teachings and puts them into practice stands firm even when storms strike—because the foundation is Christ Himself.
But the one who hears His words and ignores them builds a life on sand—unstable, fragile, and unable to withstand hardship. Jesus’ teaching reminds us that genuine discipleship is not measured by speech but by surrender, not by confession alone but by transformed living. When our choices are aligned with His truth, our lives become unshakeable, rooted in the eternal Rock.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You are the firm foundation on which my life must stand. Teach me to follow You not in words alone but in faithful obedience from my heart. Strengthen me to live out Your teachings in every decision and every moment.
When storms arise, steady me with Your truth. Remove every form of superficial faith and build in me a deep, enduring trust. May my life reflect Your will and be anchored to You, my Rock and Redeemer. Amen
