TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
11 OCTOBER, 2025
Luke 11:27-28

While Jesus was speaking,
a woman from the crowd called out and said to him,
“Blessed is the womb that carried you
and the breasts at which you nursed.”
He replied, “Rather, blessed are those
who hear the word of God and observe it.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

As Jesus was teaching, a woman in the crowd praised His mother, saying, “Blessed is the womb that bore you.” But Jesus responded, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” In this, Jesus shifts the focus from physical relationship to spiritual obedience. True blessedness is not found in proximity to holiness but in submission to God’s Word. Hearing God’s Word is not enough; it must take root in our hearts and be lived out daily. The real honor we give to God is through our obedience and faithfulness to His truth.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for reminding us that true blessing comes from hearing and obeying Your Word. Help us to be attentive listeners and faithful doers, not merely admirers from afar. May our hearts be open to Your voice, and our lives reflect Your truth in action. Strengthen us to walk in obedience each day, that we may be counted among those who are truly blessed in Your sight. Amen
