BACKGROUND AND DIVINE CALL
Saint Joseph of Leonessa (1556–1612) was a Capuchin Franciscan priest from Italy, known for his radical obedience, austere penance, and fearless missionary zeal. Drawn early to a life of holiness, he surrendered personal comfort to follow Christ crucified with total dedication.
