Matthew 11:25-30

At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
“All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION
This beautiful passage reveals the heart of Jesus. He praises the Father for revealing divine truths not to the proud and self-sufficient, but to the humble and trusting. God’s wisdom is received most deeply by those who approach Him with the simplicity and openness of a child.

Jesus then invites all who are weary, burdened, and struggling to come to Him. He does not promise a life without difficulties, but He promises His presence, strength, and peace in the midst of them. The yoke of Christ is not a heavy load; it is a relationship of love in which He walks beside us and carries our burdens with us.

Throughout His earthly life, Jesus showed gentleness and humility. He welcomed sinners, comforted the afflicted, healed the sick, and never turned away anyone who sought Him. When we entrust our worries, fears, and struggles to Him, we discover the rest that only God can give.

Today, Jesus continues to say, “Come to me.” Whatever burdens our hearts—anxiety, sorrow, disappointment, illness, or uncertainty—He invites us to place them in His hands. In His Sacred Heart we find peace, comfort, and renewed strength for the journey.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, gentle and humble of heart, I come before You with all my burdens, worries, and struggles. Teach me to trust You with the simplicity of a child and to seek Your wisdom above all earthly knowledge.

Help me to take up Your yoke each day and walk faithfully in Your ways. When I am weary, be my strength; when I am anxious, be my peace; when I am discouraged, be my hope. May I always find rest in Your loving presence and share Your gentleness with those around me. Amen
