TODAY’S GOSPEL READING – 24 NOVEMBER

TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
24 NOVEMBER, 2025
Luke 21:1-4

When Jesus looked up he saw some wealthy people
putting their offerings into the treasury
and he noticed a poor widow putting in two small coins.
He said, “I tell you truly,
this poor widow put in more than all the rest;
for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth,
but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

In watching the poor widow offer her two small coins, Jesus reveals a profound truth about the heart of giving. While others gave out of abundance, she offered all she had, holding nothing back. Her gift was small in material value but immeasurable in devotion, trust, and surrender. Jesus teaches us that God sees beyond the size of our offering and looks deeply at the sacrifice, intention, and love behind it. True generosity is measured not by how much we give, but by how much we are willing to entrust to God.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, give me the heart of the widow—a heart that trusts You fully and gives with sincerity and love. Teach me to offer not only my resources but also my time, strength, and life into Your hands. Strip away pride, fear, and self-preservation, and fill me with the joy of wholehearted giving. May every offering I make, big or small, rise before You as an act of love and faith. Amen
