TODAY’S GOSPEL READING – 27 JANUARY

TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
27 JANUARY, 2026
Mark 3:31-35

The mother of Jesus and his brothers arrived at the house.
Standing outside, they sent word to Jesus and called him.
A crowd seated around him told him,
“Your mother and your brothers and your sisters
are outside asking for you.”
But he said to them in reply,
“Who are my mother and my brothers?”
And looking around at those seated in the circle he said,
“Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of God
is my brother and sister and mother.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

In this passage, Jesus gently reshapes the meaning of family. While honoring natural bonds, He reveals a deeper belonging rooted in obedience to God’s will. Those who listen to God’s word and live it out become part of His true family. Faith, therefore, is not only about closeness to Jesus but about commitment to follow Him in daily life. Discipleship creates a new community where love, faithfulness, and obedience bind us together.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for calling us into Your family through faith and obedience. Give us hearts that listen attentively to Your word and lives that reflect Your will. Help us to grow in love for You and for one another, so that we may truly live as Your brothers and sisters. Amen
