TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
12 NOVEMBER, 2025
Luke 17:11-19
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem,
he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him.
They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying,
“Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!”
And when he saw them, he said,
“Go show yourselves to the priests.”
As they were going they were cleansed.
And one of them, realizing he had been healed,
returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;
and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.
He was a Samaritan.
Jesus said in reply,
“Ten were cleansed, were they not?
Where are the other nine?
Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?”
Then he said to him, “Stand up and go;
your faith has saved you.”
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION
As Jesus travels toward Jerusalem, ten lepers cry out for mercy. He instructs them to go and show themselves to the priests, and as they obey, they are healed. Yet only one—a Samaritan—returns to give thanks, glorifying God and falling at Jesus’ feet in gratitude. This passage reveals the power of faith that acts in obedience and the deeper blessing found in a thankful heart. The nine received physical healing, but the one who returned experienced spiritual restoration, hearing the words, “Your faith has made you well.” Gratitude completes the circle of grace, turning a gift into a relationship with the Giver.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your mercy that meets us in our places of need. Help us to recognize Your hand at work in our lives and to return to You with thankful hearts. May we not take Your blessings for granted but live each day in gratitude and praise. Deepen our faith that, like the healed Samaritan, we may glorify You not only with our lips but through our lives. Amen
