“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:31-33
O Lord God Almighty, we praise You for Your faithfulness and the wonder of Your divine plan. You are the God who enters human history with tenderness and power, choosing humility as the pathway of salvation. In Your great love, You looked upon the world’s need and answered it with the gift of Your Son. We adore You for Your wisdom, Your mercy, and Your unchanging promise that Your kingdom will never end.
In these verses, the angel announces to Mary that she will conceive and bear a Son who will be called Jesus, the Son of the Most High. He will inherit the throne of David and reign forever, establishing a kingdom that knows no end. This message reveals both the humility and the majesty of Christ—born of a woman, yet eternal King. It assures us that God’s promises are not temporary or fragile but firmly rooted in His eternal plan of salvation for all humanity.
Lord, help us to trust in Your promises as Mary did, even when we do not fully understand Your ways. Teach us to surrender our fears and doubts, and to welcome Your reign in our hearts. May Jesus, our eternal King, rule our thoughts, actions, and choices, so that our lives may reflect His love, justice, and peace. Amen
