I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
Abba Father, our Mighty Creator, you are our Refuge and Fortress, in Whom we find shelter and through Whom we derive strength and courage, peace and inner consolation. We know that you are in control and we trust that you will not allow any precious soul to get dragged down or disengaged from your care. We place ourselves in your care, for with you, all things are possible. We are nothing and can do nothing without you.
Our fruitfulness totally depends on our fellowship with Christ. He is our everything. As his disciple, we endeavor to be fruitfully connected to his divine source to produce good for eternity. Our salvation is determined by our relationship with you Lord, our Father, and by abiding in Christ and he in us, we are saved and become members of one body and one spirit in Christ. For if we are in Christ we are living in him. We are unworthy if we are not in him.
Jesus leads us to you, Father, and we beseech you not to cast us away when we wander far from you, lured by evil desires and worldliness. Not we, but you Lord, have divine resources from which we can draw and which provide us with sustenance for our soul. The branch produces what is drawn from the vine. We must come to a recognition that we are not sufficient in ourselves, and we pray that we always stay united in you, through Jesus our Lord. Amen
