Luke 1: 68-69

27 December, 2020

Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David. Luke 1:68–69

Creator God and gracious heavenly Father, we offer you Lord, blessings and praise, in acknowledgement of your unconditional goodness and greatness, your dominion and glory, your might and majesty, your unfathomable kindness to us, who are totally undeserving of your mercy and grace.

God, even through our disobedience, outrages, blasphemy against you and even though we provoked your rage and wrath, by our addictive, sinful nature, our many and constant offences, you have never abandoned us.

You have remained faithful to your covenanted people. You are true to your word and honourable in all your doings which culminated with the sacrifice offered by your visiting us and once and for all time, dying to lift the sins of the world and free us, conquering the evil one and redeeming your people.

Your plan of redemption was foreordained before the foundation of the world. Our strong and mighty Saviour, Jesus, from the house and lineage of king David, having the authority and power accorded to him by you, Father, fulfilled the plans and purposes of the wonderful truth of salvation for mankind.

We savor and hold precious the gift of eternal life, absolutely absolved and restored by the light of the world radiating the lives of the people that walked in darkness. We reverence the name of our redeemer and mediator. We invoke and pray for all necessities in the name ofJesus. Amen
