THE 12th OF JANUARY
BY FAITH, THE HOLY SPIRIT FILLS US WITH JOY AND PEACE
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13
We all start our mornings hoping for a wonderful day. As believers, we often pray for strength to avoid sin, show kindness, and find peace and joy in the Lord. Yet, the joy of a perfectly envisioned day can fade quickly—sometimes as soon as we get out of bed and face unexpected challenges or disruptions. But it need not be this way.
To sustain our joy, we must actively guard it. The deeper our faith in Jesus, the greater the peace and joy we can experience. This requires paying attention to the thoughts that threaten to steal our peace. Address the real and pressing issues, but let go of distractions and futile worries. By doing so, we can experience a lasting peace beyond what we have known.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Dear Lord, fill me with Your Holy Spirit so I may experience true peace and joy. Help me to be sensitive to Your guidance, resist the enemy’s lies, and recognize anything that seeks to rob me of my peace. Teach me to focus only on what matters and trust You with the rest. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen
