MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 29 OCTOBER

THE 29th OF OCTOBER

HOW WE LIVE REFLECTS WHO WE SERVE

“And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” – Romans 6:13-14

Our choices reveal whom we serve and how we use our bodies. Let us remember that God sees all, and we are called to live rightly for Him—not yielding to our own desires or the approval of others. Knowing that we are saved and forgiven by His grace, not by our efforts, frees us from the dominion of sin.

When we love Jesus wholeheartedly, we desire to live in a way that pleases Him and our Heavenly Father. Christ’s sacrifice on the cross displays His immense love for us. As we grasp the depth of His love, our own love for Him grows, diminishing our desire for sin.

The enemy may deceive us into believing that certain sins from our past are unbreakable. But this is a lie. Scripture assures us that we are freed from the power of all sin, and we have the strength to choose what is right. While we may not be perfect and may stumble, we are no longer bound to live in deliberate, persistent sin as the Lord empowers us.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

How perfect is Your plan of salvation, dear Lord. You have done Your part, and now it is my turn to choose to live righteously for You. The peace, joy, love, and blessings that come from living in Your ways far surpass any fleeting gain from sin. The cost of sin is too great—it risks everything. Lord, grant me the wisdom to make choices that bring Your blessing, and strengthen me to resist any choice that would empower the enemy. Help me to keep Jesus as my Lord always, and let no sin have dominion over me again. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen
