THE 29th OF JUNE

JESUS SUFFERED EXTREME PAIN FOR THE JOY TO HAVE US SAVED

Yet the Lord was willing to crush Him, causing Him to suffer; if He would give Himself as a guilt offering [an atonement for sin], He shall see His [spiritual] offspring, He shall prolong His days, and the will (good pleasure) of the Lord shall succeed and prosper in His hand. – Isaiah 53:10

The Lord is telling us through Isaiah, that the sufferings of His Son were not a mistake or caused by the wickedness of His persecutors, but the Father was “willing to crush Him” and have Him suffer. Jesus accepted to suffer and be a sacrifice for us. Our Lord was able to go through the torment of the cross, because He focused on the final result, as we read in Hebrews 12:2 “Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross…” We can learn from Jesus that if we focus on what God prepared for us for eternity, we may continue to trust Him for the best solution to overcome the trials of life, no matter how hard it might be.

Jesus offered Himself, once and for all, as the perfect sacrifice for the sin of mankind. He endured it all, knowing that by doing so He was preparing the way for us to be saved and spend eternity with Him. We could be adopted in God’s family because of what Jesus did for us. God’s will is to have “His own chosen people” (1 Peter 2:9) to be with Him forever. By what Jesus did, people from every nation can be saved and make it to heaven, fulfilling the Father’s will.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You with all my heart for all Your sacrifice and for dying in my place, paying for my sins. You love me that much! Please help me to focus on what You have prepared for me for eternity, to be able to go through the trials of life victoriously, as You focused on the joy of having us all saved, enduring the torment of the cross, in a human body. All praises and glory to Your holy Name, forever. Amen
