THE 3rd OF FEBRUARY
SAVED AND MADE HOLY THROUGH GRACE BY FAITH
“And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
—Colossians 1:21-23
What a profound truth! Those whose thoughts and actions were once sinful and separated from God are no longer alienated. Through Jesus, we are reconciled to the Father. His sacrifice cleanses us of sin, making us “holy, blameless, and above reproach” in His sight—provided we remain steadfast in our faith, holding firmly to the hope of the gospel. In essence, our salvation and holiness depend on our willingness to live in obedience to God’s Word.
This requires a heart transformation: to extend mercy and forgiveness instead of harshness, to respond with kindness rather than cruelty, to embrace humility over pride, meekness over aggression, and patience over impatience. As we submit to God’s ways, we find true joy and fulfillment.
In this fast-paced, instant-gratification world, we often want spiritual growth and maturity immediately. Yet, God’s kingdom operates differently. His laws demand patience, endurance, and long-suffering. To truly belong to Him, we must commit to living by His principles.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice that reconciles me to the Father. Your blood has cleansed my sins and made me holy, allowing me to stand in right relationship with God and receive salvation. Please grant me the strength to forgive and love, to choose kindness over retaliation, mercy over revenge, and patience over anger. I cannot do this in my own strength—help me to follow Your Word in obedience. Thank You for equipping me to succeed in this walk of faith. Glory and praise to Your holy name. Amen
