THE 4TH OF MARCH
NOT EVERYTHING THAT SEEMS RIGHT IS TRULY GOOD
“There is a way that seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.” – Proverbs 16:25
Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we cannot discern the truth that leads to life from the deception that leads to spiritual death. Society increasingly tells us that sin is not really sin—as long as no one is harmed, it is acceptable. Even in some churches, we are reassured that sin is not a concern because God is love, He desires our happiness, and He forgives us unconditionally, teaching that once saved, we are always saved.
Indeed, God is love, and He forgives our sins when we sincerely repent and seek His mercy. However, if we knowingly choose to sin and rebel against Him, why would we persist in wrongdoing? Choosing sin over obedience reveals a divided heart—one that clings to sin rather than fully surrendering to God. We must remember that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Since Jesus sacrificed Himself for us, breaking sin’s hold on our lives, we now have the power to choose righteousness and secure our place in heaven.
Let us not be deceived! We cannot serve God while continuing to live in sin and follow the ways of the enemy. If there is a sin that continues to control your life, now is the time to seek the Holy Spirit’s help. Ask Him to strengthen you, to break free from sin, and to live wholeheartedly for Jesus. Self-control is a fruit of the Holy Spirit—it already resides within us. We only need to acknowledge it and allow it to work in our lives.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me to meditate on Your Word and gain true understanding, that I may live righteously before You. Open my eyes to recognize falsehoods and replace them with the truth of Your Word. Lord Jesus, You are the truth that leads to life, and only through Your sacrifice can I enter heaven. Glory and praise to Your holy Name, Lord! Amen
