MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL FOR 5 MARCH

THE 5th OF MARCH

IN THE MIDST OF LIFE’S STORMS WE CAN FIND PEACE WITH JESUS

“And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, ‘It is a ghost!’ And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.'” – Matthew 14:26-27

When faced with the storms of life, our natural instincts often lead us to fear and worry. However, these reactions only add to our struggles rather than alleviate them. The disciples were already terrified by the raging waves and strong winds, and seeing Jesus walking on the sea only heightened their fear!

How did Jesus respond? Did He immediately calm the storm? Did He scold them for their fear? Did He ignore their cries? No! Jesus understood their hearts and responded with love and reassurance—*immediately!* He does the same for us today. But it is our responsibility to quiet the overwhelming thoughts and emotions and turn our focus to Him. Only in His presence can we truly hear His voice and receive His peace.

Let us always remember that Jesus is with us, and we have nothing to fear. No matter how difficult our circumstances may seem, we are never alone. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus dwells within us, and He has the perfect solution to every problem we face. He is always ready to help.

SUGGESTED PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank You for Your constant presence in my life! You never leave me, whether I am experiencing joy or facing challenges. I trust that You have prepared wonderful blessings for me. Strengthen my faith so that I may fully receive what You have for me. I know that You never force anyone to do what is right, and if people continue to hurt me, it is not because You do not care—it is because they refuse to listen. Yet, I hold onto Your promise that all things will work together for my good because I love You and am called according to Your purpose. Thank You, Lord! Amen
