THE 6th OF DECEMBER
WE HAVE TO FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER AS GOD FORGAVE US IN JESUS CHRIST
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. – Ephesians 4:31-32
The apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, urges us again to renounce all bitterness, wrath, anger, perpetual animosity, resentment, strife, fault-finding and slander. All these negative emotions and attitudes hurt the one who possesses them and also those at whom they are directed. Every kind of malice which can be spiteful, any verbal abuse or malevolence, have no place in a Christian’s heart or in any relationships.
On the contrary, we should be kind and help one another, treating others with compassion, understanding and forgiving their wrongs against us, just as God forgives us all our sins in Jesus Christ. There are situations when we need to pray a lot and even fast for being able to please God, but with the help of the Holy Spirit we can do it. Sometimes, the Holy Spirit will show that we need to protect ourselves from the ones who intentionally and constantly hurt us so that the bad situation stops.
SUGGESTED PRAYER
Thank You Lord with all my heart for all Your love and care for all I am going through. You want me to not hold grudges, resentment or bitterness in my heart against the ones who hurt me, so that I may continue to enjoy Your presence and be free in my heart. Lord, please help me to truly forgive them, and show them mercy and kindness. Show me how You want me to treat every person and how to stay away from those who enjoy hurting me constantly. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
