Proverbs 12: 25

17 July, 2022

Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop, but a good word maketh it glad.– Proverbs 12:25

Abba Father, you are both God and Father to the human race and you deal righteous judgment on all erring souls, pardoning the repentant, granting healing to the faithful, hope to the lowly, upliftment to the sorrowful, unfailing mercy to battered and bruised souls and the truest appreciation and supply of human wants according to their need.

Life is full of trials, twists, trouble and tribulation and the honest and true get the brunt of burdens, while the wily and unscrupulous get ahead in life without the sting of conscience which a just man bears. Burdens are sometimes so excruciating as to be a weight that cannot be borne and takes away with it all energy and hope, depressing us with the cruelty of its weight. Your Church, Lord, is where your Holy Word is always spoken, that cheers, enlightens, elevates, inspires, and ennobles those worn down by their cares.

At such moments, Lord, we wait for kindness that comes down from heaven, bearing with it everything the human soul can need in all of its miserable existence. Help us to be generous, and kind to our suffering fellowmen, lifting them out of the anguish in human life and kindling rays of hope where darkness prevails, saving souls from the abyss of failure, trauma and despair, by the power of life in Jesus’ Name. Amen
