Abba Father, you are the Fount of all Holiness and we worship, praise and give you glory, for breathing life into us with your Holy breath. Lord, we beseech you to bless us and help us in keeping our hearts pure and worthy of your love, grace and saving power. With the gift of salvation, endowed to us by the Blood of our Precious Savior Jesus Christ, Who, with his redeeming sacrifice, washed away all defilement and cleansed our hearts, through our faith making us righteous, our hearts are now, worthy abodes, for the Holy Spirit to dwell within us, as our Guide.
Our hearts, minds and thoughts, and especially our affections and emotions, which are the more immediate cause of our actions, need purity, integrity, care, obedience to your Holy Will and diligence in seeking only that which submits to your plans for us. Help us Lord, to discern carefully what can boost our spiritual growth and faith, and so transform ourselves to remain in control, fending off evil thought or action.
Lord, take charge of our lives, on this complex journey. Especially grant us wisdom to distance ourselves from perils and temptations of this world, for from the dark forces proceed all the actions of destruction of temporary nature which can destroy us. Bless us with a chaste spiritual life, which will lead to eternal life and happiness. For just as all evil actions leading to death spring from the heart, so also, spiritual, life affirming actions arise from hearts honed to endure, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
