Romans 5:8

But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

Abba Father, Powerful, Mighty, Eternal, Ever-living and Everloving God, the measure of your love for mankind is truly a mysterious blessing for all of us, sinful, wicked, incorrigible human beings who fall time and time again into the heinous snares of sin, that the everlasting destruction and damnation of such beings would be justice on your part. But instead, your unfathomable love worked to destroy the enemy and save hapless mankind for eternity.

Your ways, Lord, surpass all human and finite comprehension, because they represent the perfection of your Being. You gave us your only begotten son, the Christ Jesus, Savior and Messiah to claim us and restore us to you. He died for us sinners, to save us, not in our sins, but from our sins. And we were yet sinners when he died for us, sinning in his death, by betraying and turning against him. But you designed to deliver us, to work a great change, through the message of your new covenant of love, bringing us into a state of great faith by Christ’s resurrection and ascension, that would transform us to righteousness with the beneficence of your grace and adoption of us to sonship.

The evil, from which the deliverance rescued us is more dreadful than natural death, which we are compelled to undergo, to rid ourselves of mortality to a state of spiritual worthiness and eternal life in your heavenly kingdom. By Divine grace, we were thus brought to repent, and to believe in Christ, and have faith in his atonement of our sins. So that we believers not only rejoiced in the hope of heaven, and even in our mortal tribulations for Christ’s sake, but are gloried in God also, as our unchangeable and all-sufficient Portion, through Christ our Lord. Amen
