TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
10 JUNE, 2025
Matthew 5:13-16
Jesus said to his disciples: “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Heavenly Father.
THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!
REFLECTION
Jesus calls His followers the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Salt preserves and enhances flavor—so too are we called to preserve goodness and bring hope to a world in need. Light reveals truth and dispels darkness—so must our lives shine with Christ’s love, guiding others to God. We are not meant to hide our faith but to live it boldly, so that through our actions, others may come to glorify our Father in heaven.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, You have called me to be salt and light in this world. Help me to preserve what is good, to bring hope where there is despair, and to shine with Your love in every word and deed. May my life reflect Your truth so clearly that others are drawn not to me, but to You. Strengthen me to live courageously and faithfully, so that I may be a true witness of Your grace. Amen
