TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
19 FEBRUARY, 2025
Mark 8:22-26

When Jesus and his disciples arrived at Bethsaida,
people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village.
Putting spittle on his eyes he laid his hands on the man and asked,
“Do you see anything?”
Looking up the man replied, “I see people looking like trees and walking.”
Then he laid hands on the man’s eyes a second time and he saw clearly;
his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly.
Then he sent him home and said, “Do not even go into the village.”

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

In this passage, Jesus heals a blind man at Bethsaida, but the healing happens in stages. At first, the man sees people but describes them as looking like trees walking around. Then, after Jesus touches him again, his sight is fully restored. This reminds us that spiritual growth and understanding often happen gradually. Sometimes, we may not see God’s work clearly at first, but with faith and patience, He continues to open our eyes. This story encourages us to trust in Jesus’ process, even when we don’t see immediate results.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, You are the healer of our bodies and souls. Just as You restored the blind man’s sight, open our eyes to see Your truth more clearly. Help us to be patient in our spiritual journey, trusting that You are working even when we don’t fully understand. Strengthen our faith and lead us to a deeper relationship with You. Amen
