TODAY’S GOSPEL READING
27 SEPTEMBER, 2025
Luke 9:43b-45

While everyone was marveling at all that Jesus did, he said to his disciples,
“Listen carefully to what I am about to tell you:
The Son of Man is going to be delivered
into the hands of men.”
But they did not understand what this meant.
It was hidden from them, so that they did not grasp it,
and they were afraid to ask him about it.

THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD!

REFLECTION

The disciples stood in awe of Jesus’ mighty works, yet failed to comprehend the greater truth He was revealing. While miracles amazed the crowds, Jesus pointed to the deeper mystery of His suffering and sacrifice. Their inability to understand reflects the natural human tendency to resist painful truths, especially those that contradict our expectations. We too may rejoice in God’s blessings but shrink from embracing the cross. Jesus reminds us that true glory lies not in human admiration but in surrender to God’s saving plan, even when it involves suffering.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, open my heart to receive not only the joy of Your wonders but also the depth of Your sacrifice. Help me to accept the mystery of the cross and to trust Your will, even when I do not fully understand. Grant me courage to seek Your wisdom, humility to ask You for clarity, and faith to follow You in both triumph and trial. Amen
